Important changes of the S lines from 16th to 18th February

The ongoing repairs on the Copenhagen S – lines’ tracks will again affect all traffic during the weekend from Friday until Sunday between København H and Østerport on all lines.

If you are travelling home from a winter holiday and plan to take the S-train between Copenhagen Main Train Station and Østerport, you are in for a bad surprise.

From Friday evening until Sunday evening there are only train busses connecting Copenhagen’s main stations.

You can take the regional train – the so-called Kystbanen -, however, its time schedule will be affected as well – as DSD announces there will be fewer trains during that weekend as well for the regional trains.

Remember though that this train does not stop at Vesterport Station. If you want to bring a bicycle this might be a good idea as the replacement busses do not take bicycles.

Line A : From Køge to København H and Svanemøllen to Farum

Line B: From Høje Taastrup to København H and Østerport to Hillerød

Line C: From Frederikssund to København H

Line F :From Ny Ellebjerg to Hellerup – and only every 20 minutes it will continue to Klampenborg ( take this one to go to Charlottenlund, Ordrup and Klampenborg from Hellerup Station). So fewer trains from Hellerup to Klampenborg and Klampenborg to Hellerup.

Change to a “togbus”, literally train-bus, somehow makes a funny combination, but just means that a bus replaces the train and goes from train station to train station to enable you to continue your journey between Hovedbanegården and Østerport.

The unfortunate part is that you cannot take your bicycle with you, as you would on the S-train. Prams have to be fold-able as some busses are regular travel busses -and not the usual city-bus which easily takes prams.

DSB recommends that travellers in this period check on rejseplanen.dk to see how their trip may be affected.

Find the train bus here:

København H: The bus terminal at Bernstorffsgade (Tivoli exit)

Vesterport: Vester Farigmagsgade to go to Østerport, Hammerichsgade to go to København H

Nørreport: Both sides of the bus terminal on Nørre Voldgade

Østerport: From Oslo Plads, same side as the train station

There are also some changes in the evenings from during the period 11 to 15 February from 20:30 when the Line B is the only S train between Copenhagen Main Station and Svanemøllen Station. So again the

Line A : From Køge to København H and Svanemøllen to Farum

Line B: From Høje Taastrup to Hillerød and Hillerød to Høje Taastrup as the only stopping at all S station in Copenhagen city.
