The ongoing repairs on Copenhagen’s S lines will again affect S train passengers on the important lines between Hellerup and Østerport,as it will mean that all passengers travelling to Copenhagen on lines A, B, C and F will need to take the changes into account.

There will be no S-train between Østerport and Hellerup, only the regional train Kystbanen will stop at both Østerport and Hellerup as usual. Remember though that this train does not stop at Vesterport Station and that you have to pay for bicycles on this regional train.

Apart from the regional train, from Friday evening until Sunday evening there are only train busses connecting Østerport and Hellerup station. The replacement busses do not take bicycles.

The lines affected and their new itineraries

Line A : From Køge to Østerport and Svanemøllen to Farum

Line B: From Høje Taastrup to Østerport and Hellerup to Hillerød

Line C: From Frederikssund to København H

Line F :From Ny Ellebjerg to Klampenborg

Change to a “togbus”, literally train-bus, somehow makes a funny combination, but just means that a bus replaces the train and goes from train station to train station to enable you to continue your journey between Hellerup and Østerport.

The unfortunate part is that you cannot take your bicycle with you, as you would on the S-train. Prams have to be fold-able as some busses are regular travel busses -and not the usual city-bus which easily takes prams.

DSB recommends that travellers in this period check on to see how their trip may be affected.
