The Copenhagen Metro Company announced the closure of the M3(Cityringen) and M4 lines from 19:00 until 06:00 last week and the work will continue this week until the 18 November.

The M1 and the M2 will run on a different schedule and with changed stops at certain intervals between 20:00 and 24:00 and also in the middle of the night this work will continue until the 20 November.

Unfortunately the Metro Company has not updated their English language site with detailed information, so we recommend readers, who normally just go off to take the metro, to check that the metro line they usually take is running or not.

We have tried at the end of the article to give a brief English language version of the main changes this week.

Metro buses will assure the transport of passengers on the lines when there is no train..

The reason is a needed grinding of the tracks to ensure a smooth running of the metro, as it has to be done, the Metro Company has opted for a nighttime solution. Also the M3 needs an upgrade to get a better mobile phone coverage on some parts of the line and this work is being done as well.

Capacity on the buses is reduced to a maximum of 40 passengers due to the epidemic, the company therefore warns that even if they are setting in more bus capacity it will mean delays and longer travel times as the buses transport fewer people than the metro can.

During the daytime, from 06:00 to 19:00, all metro lines should run on their normal schedule.
