Cold and white winter weather continues with large scale snowfall reaching all of Denmark

February continues on January’s cold and white note. Thursday and Friday snow is expected to make traffic difficult around most of the country when a low-pressure system with snow reaches Denmark from the southwest. Adjust your travel and transport plans accordingly is the advice.

The article continues below.

If you enjoy cold, clear, frosty days with trees and bushes covered by lovely white flakes then make the most of the next two days and the weekend as DMI promises more snow for Denmark after the past weeks’ cold but mainly dry winter freezer.

The stationary low-pressure system over the Baltic Sea and Southern Sweden bringing cold arctic air will meet a warmer lowpressure system arriving from Germany on Thursday morning with snow expected to reach the southern and western parts of Denmark.

As the day progresses most of Zealand and the Copenhagen area are expected to get quite some snow as well as will the Northern parts of Jutland.

As always when you live close to the coast, the amounts of snow may vary greatly from one location to the next, but DMI is foreseeing that snow will have reached all of Denmark by Friday morning.

Daytime temperatures will be from 0 to minus 4 degrees Celsius, and as the wind will still be quite strong from northeast, it will feel much colder on your skin.

For the whole country, DMI warns of risk of icy and/or wet roads, bicycle paths and pavements, particularly in the early mornings and at night.

Check the updated weather forecasts at DMI before leaving home as well as trafic situations at rejseplanen.dk and trafikinfo.dk
