Five months with traffic changes and train busses on many S-train lines in the Copenhagen area

The S-trains’ tracks need to be renovated between Hillerød and Svanemøllen station which will affect train traffic on S lines going north between the two stations, but all lines will be affected at some point during the work period.

Starting on Friday 2 May, travellers on the Copenhagen S-lines will need to check rejseplanen.dk more than usual. AND have more patience than usual and maybe leave home earlier than usual.

Many S-lines and particularly the A and E lines will be very affected by the work with changes in schedule and at some points during the work period there will be no S -trains running on some destinations and instead trains will be replaced by the so-called train busses/ togbusser.

If you have a pendlerkort and travel between Hillerød and Svanemøllen during the work period 2 MAY to 30 SEPTEMBER, you can apply for a 25 percent reduction through the offer TakPendler .​

There are four work periods:

2 May – 31 May

1 June -19 June

20 June – 10 July

11 July -30 September

Each work period will affect the S line system differently, so travellers will need to stay updated and informed and NOT rely on the schedules they are used to.

From SUNDAY 1 June until THURSDAY 19 JUNE there will be less S trains between Svanemøllen and Holte and there are changes on several S lines.

S lines will be running this way:

Line A runs every 10. minutes between Hundige and Hellerup and every 20. minutes between Hellerup and Hillerød. Line A will NOT stop at Bernstorffsvej, Gentofte or Jægersborg during the daytime, if you are travelling to or from one of those station you will have to take a train bus – Togbus in Danish.
Line B runs normally.
Line Bx runs between Høje Taastrup and Østerport.
Linje C runs normally.
Line E runs between Køge and Buddinge every 10. minutes and every 20. minutes between Buddinge and Farum.
Line H runs between Ballerup and Hillerød every 20. minutes during the daytime on weekdays. S-trains run with no stop between Hellerup and Lyngby and between Lyngby og Holte.
Line F runs with fewer departing S trains.

YOU CANNOT BRING A BICYCLE ON THE TRAINBUSSES

20 June – 10 July

From Friday 20 June until Thursday 10 July there will only be train busses between Sorgenfri and Hellerup.

S lines will be running this way:

Line A runs every 10. minutes between Hundige and Hellerup and continues every 20. minutes to Bernstorffsvej.
Linje A runs again every 10. minutes between Sorgenfri and Hillerød.
Line B runs normally.
Linje Bx runs between Høje Taastrup and Østerport – EXCEPT during the main summer holiday period from 30 June to 4 August it DOES NOT RUN.
Linje C runs normally.
Line E runs between Køge and Buddinge every 10. minutes and continues to Farum every 20. minutes.
Line F runs normally.
Linje H runs som normally.

YOU CANNOT BRING A BICYCLE ON THE TRAINBUSSES

11 July -30 September

From Friday evening 11 July until Tuesday evening 30 September there will be less S trains between Hillerød and Svanemøllen and several S lines will have changes.

S lines will be running this way:

Line A runs every 10. minutes between Hundige and Buddinge and every 20. minutes between Buddinge and Farum (no stops between Emdrup and Buddinge).
Line B runs between Høje Taastrup and Farum.
Line Bx runs between Høje Taastrup and  Østerport. EXCEPT during the main summer holiday period from 30 June to 4 August it DOES NOT RUN
Line C runs between Frederikssund and Svanemøllen every 10. minutes.
Line E runs between Køge and Hillerød every 10. minutes.
Line F runs between København Syd and Ryparken every 10. minutes and continues every 20. minutes to  Klampenborg.
Linje H DOES NOT RUN

During the evenings and weekend from 11 July to 30 September the S lines will be running:
Line A as normally.
Line B as normally.
Line C between Frederikssund and Svanemøllen.
Line F runs between København Syd and Hellerup every 10. minutes and continues to Klampenborg every 20. minutes.
