Some speakers contributed with their own international school experiences or those of their children.

After the opening ceremony, Karin Salling (widow of former founder and owner of Dansk Supermarked) planted a cherry blossom tree, and Crown Princess Mary unveiled two friendship benches in the school’s playground. She immediately put them to use, sitting and chatting with IMG_0122some of the students. Before leaving goody baskets with products from all over the world were given to them as a symbolic and international thank-you gift from the school.

New facilities were needed for Aarhus Academy for Global Education as it has grown from 11 students at its opening four years ago to 240 students today. The new facilities are located at   Dalgas Avenue in Aarhus. The schools aims at being able to receive up to 500 pupils aged three to nineteen years old.
