As warmer weather is approaching Denmark from the southeast, with potentially the first real summer day (tempeatures above 25 degrees C defined as a summer day) starting on Sunday with highs on Monday and Tuesday as well, DMI has issued a warning of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and even torrential rain for Saturday.

All regions may potentially be affeced, however, who gets what will depend on the exact passage of the weather system. DMI warns that locally very heavy rain, even torrential rain, may fall between 07:00 to 19:00 Saturday.

Torrential rain is defined as more than 15 to 25 mm of rain within 30 minutes.

Remember to secure your windows, drive safely if the rain starts while you are in your car and during thunderstorms go indoors or stay in your car.

Do not seek shelter under a tree or stay out in the open/on the beach, DMI warns.

After the rain and thunderstorms on Saturday, DMI is promising sun and warmth from Sunday until Wednesday next week.
